Pair of candlesticks - SOLD
Period: 18th century
Splendid pair of embossed and chiseled silver candlesticks; a wide, thick, circular base decorated with a molded edge interspersed with acanthus leaf motifs supports a triangular stem, also decorated with pelt motifs. At the base of each candlestick are the "Torretta" mark and the date (1)751, assays, as well as two small holes indicating that they were once fitted for electric lighting.
