This beautiful Genoese sculpture, in carved marble, depicts Ceres, the Roman deity of fertility and agriculture, also known as the Greek goddess Demeter.
Thanks to the attributes, i.e. the crown of ears of wheat that surrounds her head, it is easy to identify her as the goddess.
