Pair of sugar sifters - SOLD
Period: 18th century
Today, these two very rare objects are considered collector's items, to be admired and to gratify oneself by owning them.
Originally no, they were simply part of a set of cutlery, more specifically that part not intended to be used as table service, but indispensable in a kitchen. In fact, these are two sugar sifters, precursors of the more modern and banal strainers.
Stylistically perfect with an optimum level of refinement and elegance, in cast, embossed and chased silver and in excellent condition, they both bear the mark of the "Torretta" with date (1)779 and related assays.
