Flower vases - SOLD
Author : Adeodato Zuccati (Bologna II metà del XVII sec)
Period: 17th century
These two splendid canvases, conceived as pendants, depict two historiated metal vases inside which are placed two bouquets of flowers; from the dark background, in an explosion of colors, the multiple varieties emerge. To complete the two compositions, the painter placed the two vases on a marble surface elegantly covered by two rugs.
The two unpublished canvases are an important addition to the catalog of the rare painter Adeodato Zuccati, of whom little is known about his life. Quoted by Abbot Zani in the critical-reasoned methodical Encyclopedia of Fine Arts of Parma in 1794, he is present in some historical archives of important families (Count Annibale Ranuzzi to name one).
High pictorial quality, excellent state of conservation and last but not least excellent price.
It only lacks one thing because nothing awakens a memory like a smell. The perfume!
